In Loving Memory of
July 4, 1933 -- July 30, 2024
Our brother in faith, Leroy W. Zerbe, 91, formerly of Robesonia, passed away in the afternoon hours Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in the Berks Heim.
He was the husband of the late Gladys J. (née Endy) Zerbe, who died February 6, 2018.
Born Tuesday, July 4, 1933, in Heidelberg Township, he was a son of the late Stanley & Grace (née Jones) Zerbe.
A 1951 graduate of Womelsdorf High School, Leroy was a painter, factory worker, & custom framer.
He was a member of the United Church of Christ of Robesonia & a member of the Womelsdorf Rod & Gun, and the Cushion Peak Rod & Gun.
Leroy was a hard working beloved family man and friend; proud of his Pennsylvania Dutch heritage. Leroy and his wife of 65 years would speak PA Dutch whenever they could. He was a gifted craftsman and took pride in his projects; such as wood work, refinishing furniture, custom framing and so many more. As a farmer in his youth, he gained a love of gardening and worked tirelessly growing, weeding and nurturing his trees and gardens. His passion for hunting spanned decades and formed deep lasting friendships. Leroy also loved to bowl and for many years traveled throughout the United States attending tournaments and seeing the sites with his bowling family. These bowling trips were special to him and he loved to talk about them. Leroy lived a full and happy life. He wasn’t a man of many words, but his life spoke for itself. You will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his children: Carol A. (Charles) Wentzel & Ronald D. (Heidi) Zerbe; his grandchildren: Charles (Ashley) Wentzel, Katie (Thomas) Entzminger, Ian (Steph) Zerbe, Elliott (Marci) Zerbe, Christi Raihl, & Tami Raihl; his great-grandchildren: Brayden, Jaylah, Silas, Saleen, Sterling, Ruger, Wyatt, & Olivia; and by his sister: Margaret Raihl.
